Hi, I’m Nada with Smoking Cigar Girl, and today I will be reviewing the Joya de Nicaragua Antano Consul cigar.  It’s a Consul size, 4.5 by 52. The wrapper has some veins. There’s also a color variation on the wrapper, mostly medium-brown, but there’s also black as well.

The wrapper scent is very “earthy”. A little bit of nuts, and the pre-light draw has “nutty notes” and also a little bit of liquorish flavors.

The initial few puffs have a lot of spice in the flavor. There’s also quite a bit of strength on the initial puffs on this cigar. It’s definitely a full strength cigar.
I’ll be back in a few minutes to discuss the first third of this cigar.

About done with the first third of this cigar, and the first half inch was a powerhouse both in flavor and in strength. The flavor was like an explosion of spice in your mouth. Just feel overwhelmed by all the spicy flavors, and it’s good, it’s on a good way.

After the first half inch the flavor recedes back to a very smooth, leathery flavor, and there’s a little bit of spice on the finish but hardly enough that you notice after the first half inch.
The draw has been pretty good, and the burn is mostly even.

I’m about done with the second third of this cigar and the flavor upfront of the second third continues to mostly smooth. It’s gone from primarily leather to a lot of nutty notes with some leather and earthy tones in the background. On the finish the flavor is very intensely spicy, but it’s a flavor-full kind of spicy, like a very strong pepper, like a jalapeno, not just a very strong spice.
The burn continues to be mostly even.

I’m about to finish smoking this Joya de Nicaragua Antano Consul.  The flavors in the final third continue to be very smooth upfront. There’s almost a hint of sweetness, but it’s predominantly earthy flavors. The spice on the finish is very light now, as opposed to the very intense spices on the second third of the cigar.

The cigar is definitely a full strength cigar, so if you’re not used to smoking full strength cigars or if you’ve never smoked this cigar before I would definitely recommend waiting until after a full meal to smoke it.

With all the spicy flavors it would go really well with smooth or sweet drink, so a glass of port, very smooth cognac, or even a creamy sweet porter would go very well with this smoke.

This is actually one of my favorite cigars, I’ve been smoking it for about three years now, and it’s one of my two good smokes when I want something with very full flavor or full strength. This is a cigar I pick up. It’s also one of the cigars that’s good in any sizes you can find it in.

I hope you get to enjoy this cigar soon.

Dan's Review

Transcript:

Hey this is Dan and welcome back to real Cig Review, and I got another cigar. It’s going to be a Backwood Cigar review for you guys today, but before I’ve let you know it’s been a few days since I’ve got a review out. I’ve had been sicker than heel, I’ve been so damn sick, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I didn’t even get out of bed, I’ve just been sick. Feel a little bit better now.

Today I’m gonna head up and jump right into this, I’m gonna go ahead and review the Backwoods original. The Wild n’ Mild Cigars and this is the original cigar so I’m excited to try this.
These are made in the Dominican Republic.

Very funky looking cigar man. One thing I can’t get over is how these cigars actually look. They always look a little bit funny so anyway. I still don’t know if they are hand-rolled or not hand rolled. The only thing I do know is they are meant to look hand-rolled and I think they made a pretty damn good job at doing that with the leaf and everything, but yeah, and they always leave a little bit hanging out the end, which I’ve learned from prior experience is we’re actually gonna tear that. I’m just gonna tear the end of it right here and get rid of that, so that way it burns evenly.

Let’s go ahead and smell this. Hmm, it actually smells really good. Smells a lot like the Black n’ Sweet, but maybe like even more sweet even so  yeah, not too bad at all. Let’s go ahead and have a couple of dry puffs on this one. Really, really sweet tobacco in these. It’s got a really nice flavor to it.
Tastes good. Let’s go ahead and fire it up to see how it tastes.

Let’s go ahead and take a full pull of this and see what kind of body we’re looking on this one. It’s got a really nice body to it. The cigars are really moist, so they burn really slow. It does take a long time to get through them. They’re very pliable, they’re soft, very moist cigars. The taste is very nice, very mellow. No harshness at all.

These are really nice cigars. These are a sit-out chill and relax, kick-back enjoy a nice cigar. These are great for that.

It’s very mild. Nothing really overpowering.

They go down really smooth.

I’m gonna go ahead and give the body a seven and a half.

I’m gonna go ahead and give the flavor, taste and aroma a six.

Great cigar guys.

Stay tuned for upcoming reviews. That’s it for today guys, thanks.

Cherry BLK Swisher Sweets Review and Sale

This is Nicolas from TrueTobacco.com - Today I was looking at video reviews of one of our top selling products: Swisher Sweets BLK Cherry which we sell for $16.9 for a pack of 30. Here is a review by a great little cigar reviewer; dan:

Here is the transcript of this review:

Today Dan is going to review another cigar. They are cheap, they are easy to get a hold of, you don't have to buy a pack, you can get singles, I paid $1.09. The packaging has a clear celophaine packaging. Pretty plain, they definitively don't spend a lot on their packaging. I opened them up and the smell is really strong.

The thing about these little cigars is that I really like the smell of them when they are not light. This thing has a plastic tip and looking at it, it has a little thing, a little deformity on the end when they were making. The tobacco looks nice and tight. The glue strip is good, it runs all the way down.

The tobacco is really nice and tight you can see all the tobacco on the inside. I really dig the smell, I wish I could have it all the time, that they made airfreshers and others similar. I'll tell you that on my other cigar reviews I did enhaling. On this one I might do one or two, but I can't. The last ones they knocked me out by giving them long hard enhales. Let's light this back boy up. Wow! Strong, strong strong. Good flavor as far as cigars go. I read somewhere that you should really puff 'em good at the start to get them nice and going.

I can taste a little cherry on it. These things really have a big kick, a lot of smoke comming out from a small draw. I really like these, compared to other little cigars. I can't smell the cherry taste on it once it is burning, but I can definitively feel it a little on the smoke and a lot on my lips. I'm going to give it a draw. Wow! These things draw heavy! It might be because I"m used to cigarettes, but these things have a really strong, really powerful draw. I'm going to give it a little inhale. Wow! Even with a little draw the enhale had a lot of smoke. I can feel my lips are already numb, they are really strong.
I'm not sure if it is because I'm new to smoking cigars.

Take a look at the cherry, it is burning even and nice. Yeap not too bad. I'm going to give it a little draw and blow the smoke out of my nose to feel it. - Not too bad, it has a very heavy flavor, a good taste and it has a really good body. Swisher sweets are normally on the bottom of the latter in terms of quality, but these are really good among the swishers. I'm sure if you pay $10 per cigar, you'll get an amazing smoke. But hey, I paid $1 for this one. They are really good for being cheap cigars. Not bad, I can't get over how much smoke comes out of these things.

The swisher sweets blk, it is not bad, it has a heavy body and heavy smoke, but really not too bad. RealCigReview gives this a 3 out of 5 stars. It's alright, but it is not the favorite.
